The Place to fish in the Waveney Valley

Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club

The Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club owns and manages 7 well stocked fishing lakes in the Waveney Valley on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, together with some stretches of the River Waveney itself.

The lakes - also known as Weybread Pits - offer some of the best fishing around for both beginners and highly experienced anglers who are looking for a challenge.

Three lakes - the Club Pit, Kingfisher Pit and the Bottle Pit—are owned by the Club and can only be used by those holding an annual membership ticket.

The something lake.The other four lakes - Middle Pit, No.1 Pit, Ocean Pit and Hall's Pit - are managed by the Club on behalf of the Harold Dean Charitable Trust. These 4 pits can be fished on Day or Weekly tickets and by Club members who choose to buy the extra facility. Only members can fish the river.

The Big One - SOLD OUT

The Big One. HWAC have put on a carp match on ocean pit this summer. It will be the first one the club has done. The aim is To raise money to re-invest j to ocean pit. With 50 anglers on the bank it should also be a great social.

Use of keep nets

Anglers that use keep nets including match anglers please could you air dry your keep nets on the bank for minimum of 30 minutes prior to putting them into any of the lakes. This is to limit the transfers of disease and parasites.
