The Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club owns and manages 6 well stocked fishing lakes in the Waveney Valley on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, together with some stretches of the River Waveney itself. The lakes - also known as Weybread Pits - offer some of the best fishing around for both beginners and highly experienced anglers who are looking for a challenge. Three lakes - the Club Pit, Kingfisher Pit and the Bottle Pit—are owned by the Club and can only be used by those holding an annual membership ticket. The other three lakes - Middle Pit, No.1 Pit & Ocean Pit - are managed by the Club on behalf of the Harold Dean Charitable Trust. These 3 pits can be fished on Day or Weekly tickets and by Club members who choose to buy the extra facility. Only members can fish the river. To find out more about the lakes, see our Lakes page.
