The Place to fish in the Waveney Valley

Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club

The Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club owns and manages 7 well stocked fishing lakes in the Waveney Valley on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, together with some stretches of the River Waveney itself.

The lakes - also known as Weybread Pits - offer some of the best fishing around for both beginners and highly experienced anglers who are looking for a challenge.

Three lakes - the Club Pit, Kingfisher Pit and the Bottle Pit—are owned by the Club and can only be used by those holding an annual membership ticket.

The something lake.The other four lakes - Middle Pit, No.1 Pit, Ocean Pit and Hall's Pit - are managed by the Club on behalf of the Harold Dean Charitable Trust. These 4 pits can be fished on Day or Weekly tickets and by Club members who choose to buy the extra facility. Only members can fish the river.

Basden Marsh

As of the 31st of October HWAC members will no longer have the fishing rights or access along the Basden Marsh river banks.

Bottle Pit Match

Sunday 3rd November 2019 silver fish series 2 on bottle pit pegs 19 - 42 will be closed for the match. all other pegs will be available for club members
